Passage read
Reading of the abbreviated print: grant to Richard de Mida, son of Gilbert de Waleton, of the whole land of the vill of Waleton with its appurtenances. While it was in the king's demesne and in his hand it used to render 40s. of the ancient accustomed farm each year. Richard and his heirs are to hold it in fee farm, rendering 60s. a year for all service. Dated by the hand of S., archdeacon of Wells, at Saint-Sever in Gascony, 27 July, in the second year of the reign.
The print abbreviates the Latin. This is a reading of page 74, not a reading of the original roll. The charter does not say Richard and Henry are brothers, and it does not say this Gilbert is the Gilbert named in the 1199 confirmation.
