About
Hi! I’m Luke F. Walton. I started this site after my uncle,Josh, shared a patrilineal genealogy with me. I didn’t think about it much for about a decade, until I took a look at it again after Uncle Josh’s passing.
Unfortunately, the dates didn’t add up. So I pulled on that thread and ended up here.
I probably wouldn’t have gone so deep if it weren’t for the quixotic Minjum Walton. That odd name haunted my dreams.
So I set out to Find Minjim, and in the process discovered a love for this detective work, particularly after learning the tragic story of my great-grandfather Jack, and that my great-great-great-grandfather very likely enslaved fifteen people.
I never met my grandfather, who died the year of my birth, so discoveringhis oral history was a real highlight. I was impressed by Frank J. Walton and wish I could’ve had a chance to talk to him. But at least through history, I sort of can.
What began as a search for my own ancestors has become an attempt to document Waltons everywhere, whether we’re related or not. Every family has a history worth uncovering.
I love writing stories (I even put ol’ Minjum in a book of mine), and I love hearing them even more. I hope to find more stories, good and bad. Lives lived, love lost. If you’re a Walton or associated family, I hope I uncover something new for your history too!
