Nugent's abstract of Robert Cade's patent, 9 January 1651, Patent Book 2, page 353, names Samll. Walton among six people claimed for land on Cow Creek into Ware River in Mockjack Bay. The patent date is the date of the land claim. He is not matched to Samuell Walton in Christopher Stokes's 1637 list, or to Sam.l Walton on the Gilbert list of 1720/21.
